Sorry for the outburst, ladies, but I must have gotten a little stardust in my eyes…It must have happened while I was playing with Urban Decay’s new Stardust Eyeshadows ($20, available in nine shades) for spring. Observe the claw marks in the pan of Moon Spoon on the right. LOL! Guess I should trim my nails. But seriously, it must have happened in transit.

And nutrition, bluh. Since New Year’s I’ve been trying to watch what I eat and thinking about getting back into shape for 2010. When it comes to working out, I actually enjoy punishing myself with sweaty workouts (sick, I know!), but the whole healthy nutrition thing has proven to be quite a challenge for me. At 10:38 a.m. today my tummy was ready for lunch.

Stila's new products for Spring 2010 have been announced and among them is this curious Black Diamond Mascara. It seems at first glance the point of a "diamond mascara" would be glittery or sparkly lashes. But the formula in reality seems to mostly make use of black diamond powder to create brilliance.

But many of our favorite celebrities have already found the secret to improving the appearance of their eyelids. Blepharoplasty is a facial plastic surgery where excess fat, skin and muscle is removed from the upper and lower lids to rejuvenate the look of your peepers and create a more youthful presence.

Brightly colored lids are a look that we usually spot during the spring. But leave it up to Rihanna to rock the trend two seasons early. The beauty rebel caught our attention with her purple eyeshadow while posing on the red carpet at the Nokia X6 launch party in London, England on November 16. The racy hue complements Rihanna's bronzed skin and sleek new hairdo. And we love how she paired it with a glossy, nude pucker.

Eyeshadows add a depth to the eyes of a woman and its right application can make the eyes look smaller, bigger, set closely together or set apart. All we need is to choose the right color and shade and know how to apply it perfectly. The shape of your eyes, the brow bone and shape of your eyebrows, your eyelid and the corner of your eyes all play a role in the right application of the eyeshadow. A pearly eyeshadow needs a sponge applicator to avoid flaking while a shading brush is of great help when it comes to blend in the colors of the eyeshadows.

Many brands offer a variety of hues, textures and types of eyeliners; ideally suited for different situations, weather conditions, shape and color of the eyes. Eyes are quite delicate and need to be handled with care. Soft eyeliner pencils, liquid eyeliner, felt tip eyeliner that works like the liquid one and the cake eyeliners are the most common types available in the market.

The eyelashes are not just strands of hair that rim our eyelids. They are gifts that Mother Nature gave us to protect and shield our eyes from dust and other foreign bodies. And because we communicate a lot with our eyes, our eyelashes help us put color and meaning to our words with the way we flutter and bat our eyelashes. It would be infinitely nicer and infinitely more effective, though, if the lashes that we bat and flutter look long, thick and immaculate.

Unless you have very sensitive skin, waxing is a quick and relatively easy alternative to plucking your eyebrows. Although it is generally best to get eyebrows waxed professionally it can be expensive - up to around $15 as a general rule, although salons do differ. If you have a tighter budget, or if you are feeling fairly brave, here are some simple steps for you to try at home.

Eyeliner is used to give shape to the eyes and define them as desired. An important part of eye makeup, it is often used after eyeshadow and before mascara. Eyeliner can be used to add the dramatic touch to your face or soften the look of your eyes and must be used, keeping the color of eyes and the eyeshadow that you use in mind. Brown, navy and charcoal liners look gorgeous on light colored eyes while brown and plum shades are often used to enhance the beauty of dark brown and black eyes.
